Admission

The following persons are eligible to use the Library:

  1. KEMRI staff
  2. Employees of KEMRI Research collaborators
  3. ITROMID Graduate students
  4. Students on practical attachment
  5. Users from other institutions with their institutions€™ recommendation.

Registration

1. All non KEMRI staff registers at the reception desk before use of the resources

Library Rules and Regulations

  1. Lending services are restricted to KEMRI members of staff, ITROMID students and institutions on the library€™s inter-library lending list
  2. Reference books, journals (both bound and loose) can only be used within the library but can be borrowed out for photocopying identified pages with the librarian€™s authority
  3. Marking, defacing or mutilating any library material is prohibited
  4. Loaned items may not be transferred from one borrower to another but must be returned to the library for re-issuing.
  5. All borrowed material must be returned to the library at the stipulated time.
  6. Computers are provided to users and purpose of research

Copyright

There is a copyright protection law on most of the library materials. Deliberate infringement on this law e.g. unauthorized copying, is a criminal offence. All users of electronic information resources must abide by the terms of the appropriate licenses. However, permissible copying limits as per Copyright Act may be made for academic purposes. All users of library materials must observe these limits in the Library premises or elsewhere.
