Lack of effective HIV diagnosis has grossly hampered the fight against HIV, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said. Consequently, as the World Aids Day is observed today, the WHO, has released new guidelines on HIV self-testing aimed at improving access to and uptake of HIV diagnosis.

In a special report released Tuesday, 29th November, 2016, reveals that more than 18 million people with HIV are currently taking ART, and a similar number is still unable to access treatment, the majority of which are unaware of their HIV positive status.
