The Kenya Medical Research Institute has donated eight automatic soap dispensers and hand sanitizers to Nairobi Primary School as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities with the aim to reduce risks of infectious diseases among pupils.

Approximately 1,800 pupils will benefit from the hand sanitizers mounted at strategic places like the washrooms and dining hall areas in a bid to enhance personal hygiene and general sanitation within the school environment.

Preterm Births in Kenya - World Prematurity Day 2016

As the world observes the World PreMaturity Day, KEMRI is one of the Institutions in Kenya participating in the Preterm Birth Initiative research alongside other partners in East Africa in collaboration with PTBi University of California San Francisco (PTBi UCSF).

The World Pre-Maturity Day is observed annually on 17th, November to raise awareness of PreTerm births and the concerns of pre-term babies and their families worldwide.Dr. Phelgona Otieno, a Principle Research Officer and a Pediatrician at Center for Clinical Research- KEMRI in Nairobi, Kenya is the Principal Investigator
